- The tea in tea bags = tea dust. Tea dust = bottom of the bush tea (literally) Tea dust = sticks, stems and crushed tea leaves Tea dust = bitter, lower in antioxidants and higher potential for heavy metals Instead drink top of the bush loose leaf tea leaves. Loose leaf tea = top of the bush Loose leaf tea = whole uncrushed tea leaves Loose leaf tea = sweet, aromatic, higher in antioxidants and lower in heavy metals #looseleaftea #teabag #tea@Alan Lin | Fiber Daddy

- In the grocery store losing my mind because y’all need to STOP buying pre-bagged teas Loose leaf tea >>>> every time. Let me put you on real quick ⸻ Why Loose Leaf Tea Is Better 1. You control the dosage. Bagged teas lock you into whatever tiny amount they stuff in there. Loose leaf lets you actually measure the amount you need for strength, flavor, or therapeutic use. 2. Higher quality leaves. Most tea bags use “dust and fannings”—the lowest-grade leftovers from real tea. Loose leaf is typically whole leaves or larger leaf pieces, meaning better flavor, aroma, and benefits. 3. Better flavor extraction. Whole leaves open up fully in hot water. Tea dust in bags can’t release the same complexity or smoothness. 4. No (or far less) microplastics. A lot of modern tea bags—especially the silky-looking “pyramid” ones—are made of nylon or PET. They shed microplastics into your cup when steeped. Loose leaf avoids that. 5. More economical long-term. Loose leaf seems pricier upfront but costs less per cup because you aren’t paying for bagging, packaging, and fillers. 6. More sustainable. Less packaging waste, no plastic mesh bags, and often reusable tins or bulk options. 7. Customizable blends. You can mix herbs, adjust ratios, add botanicals, and create your own blends—something you can’t do with a pre-portioned bag. #tea #looseleaftea #teatok@sipteabefree

- Cozy Cinnamon Apple Tea The ultimate cozy fall drink! Fruity, fragrant, perfectly sweet, and infused with warming cinnamon and fresh mint. It’s one of those recipes I look forward to making every fall. Bringing back one of your all-time favorites, and for good reason! TEA Ingredients: 1 L boiling water 1 apple, chopped 3/4 orange 3 cinnamon sticks Large handful of fresh mint 1–2 tea bags or 2 tbsp loose-leaf tea (I used hibiscus and basil tea) 1 tbsp honey Directions: Chop the apple and slice 1/2 of the orange, reserving the remaining orange for juicing. Add the chopped apple and orange slices to a teapot. Gently mash the orange slices with a spoon to release their juices. Squeeze in the juice from the remaining orange. Add the fresh mint, cinnamon sticks, tea, and honey. Pour in the boiling water, cover, and let steep for 10–15 minutes. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy! #tea #herbaltea #appletea #fallrecipes #tearecipes@Healthymoodsf
