- Astronauts get these strange flashes in their eyes called phosphenes that aren’t coming from an outside light source!!! What are they? We look at the two main mechanisms involving high-energy particles (cosmic rays) and Cherenkov radiation!! #Science #space #cosmicrays #astronaut #funfact@Science Sage
- What if you shrank by half every 2 seconds? At 12 seconds you're the size of a coin. At 20, you fall into a dewdrop. At 60, you're smaller than a virus. - Cognitive scientists argue that religious belief is a side effect of mental tools that evolved for survival, such as the ability to recognize patterns, infer intentions, and understand cause-and-effect. Humans possess a "Hyperactive Agency Detection Device" (HADD) that makes us prone to attributing natural events to invisible, intentional agents (ghosts, gods) to avoid danger. Religious behaviors (rituals, shared beliefs) act as social glue, enhancing cooperation and trust within groups, which improved survival and reproductive success. While there is no single "God spot" in the brain, neuroimaging studies show that spiritual practices (meditation, prayer) activate regions associated with social cognition, emotion regulation, and understanding others' intentions. Evolutionary psychology suggests that religious attachment to a deity taps into the same psychological mechanisms that make infants dependent on parents for safety and guidance. Behaviors like dancing, chanting, or meditation, common in religious practices, can alter brain chemistry and create feelings of transcendence. #for3stlov3r #Science #biology #religion #spirituality@꩜ neurogirl ☮︎

- Thanks for all the support guys I really appreciate it!!! Here’s another post for yall. More info about H2O and Na: When sodium (Na) is placed in water, it reacts very quickly and produces sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrogen gas (H₂— this is a diatomic guys!). The reaction releases a lot of heat, which can cause the water to boil rapidly while hydrogen gas is produced. If the hydrogen ignites from the heat, it can cause a sudden burst of flame. #viral #Science #chemistry #anime #edit@stemzii
