Everything is drawn to true scale; only time is slowed, about 200×.The sound is not REAL though :) The yellow machine is the flagellar motor: a rotor about 50 nm across, driven by protons flowing through its stator units, turning the hook and filament at ~100 turns per second. Watch how the singal travel to falgelar motor. The teal structures at the lower right are the cell’s “nose” (chemoreceptor array): they sense what’s outside. When the "smell" (for example, nutrient molecules) changes, a protein at their base hands a chemical tag (phosphorylation) to a small messenger. The tagged messenger (orange, cheY) drifts across the cell and latches onto the bottom ring of the motor. When enough of them are attached, the ring flips — the flash is the switch — and the motor runs backwards. Backwards, the propellers fly apart and the cell tumbles; forwards again, it sets off in a new direction. That’s how a cell with no brain finds its way to food. Also in the picture: two more rotary machines (ATP synthase)at the upper left that make the cell’s fuel from the same ion current, a pump that throws out toxins, DNA being copied, a ribosome building a protein, and the three-layer wall with its sugar forest on the outside.@iJEP Studio

- The creation of the blue LED was a technological dead end for over 30 years due to the fundamental physics of light. A diode's color depends on the semiconductor's energy levels: red and green require narrow-bandgap materials, which are relatively easy to synthesize. In contrast, blue light has a short wavelength and high energy, demanding a wide-bandgap semiconductor — specifically gallium nitride (GaN) — which scientists did not know how to process for decades. The primary hurdle lay in growing defect-free GaN crystals and establishing a layer with p-type conductivity. For years, researchers failed to make the material conduct electricity efficiently because hydrogen atoms locked the doping magnesium in place. The breakthrough came from Japanese physicists Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura, who managed to grow clean crystals, activate p-conductivity using heat, and utilize quantum wells to achieve ultra-bright emission. This invention revolutionized the world because without a blue LED, it was impossible to create white light. By coating a blue chip with a yellow phosphor or combining it with red and green (the RGB system), humanity finally developed energy-efficient LED bulbs and modern color screens for smartphones and TVs. For this monumental leap, the creators were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014. #Science #education #facts #physicstok@ʜᴏʟᴠᴇᴋ
- Your body rebuilds liver, bone, skin, muscle. Not your heart. A zebrafish rebuilds its entire damaged heart in 60 days. No scar. A Dutch lab found the difference; a protein called Hmga1. And the gene for it is in you. It built your heart before you were born, then switched off. They turned it back on in mice. The muscle repaired. Real Discovery. What you were not told. #realdiscovery #heartregeneration #hearthealth #hiddennews #Science@Real Discovery
