Mutianyu Great Wall got there at 1230pm, ended at 440pm…..tbf we had lunch sitting on the steps so it took longer We chose 慕田峪长城 MuTianYu is because they have toboggan to come down but we missed the timing and entrance (it’s at gate 6) but we just walked back to the cable car place stoopid didn’t check(cable car gate back to gate 6 is another 1 hour walk and they close at 530pm so yea we didn’t make it)….had too much fun up there with the golden sunset You can buy the tickets seperately and choose what route you want to take to come down (toboggan or cable car) bought cable car tickets 100rmb and entrance tickets 30rmb there. We took a cab ride there with the app (1.5hours to MuTianYu) 240rmb and (3 hours back to Beijing 二环) 350rmb cuz it had traffic jam at 5/6pm - someone pulled us at the entrance. Hahah aiya it was hard to get taxi there so we just agreed on 300rmb. But at the destination he said 350rmb but we just gave cuz the traffic jam took so much longer than we thought. crowd It’s definitely lesser crowd that’s shown on xhs. We could have a clear background with no people in our pictures towards the end when walking back down. Tips: 八达岭 Badaling has more crowd because it’s accessible via train and all the local tourist bus will go there. Mutianyu needs to go through small town roads so it’s less accessible for big tourists bus. Save it for your next trip ahaha #beijing #greatwallofchina #长城
